Barbara & Henry

We have been visiting Bali for the past 35 years and have come to know the people. country and culture intimately and passionately. As such, we wish to give our retreat participants, an experience of the Island that few tourists have a chance to see. We'll take you through the back roads, to small villages, to experience music, dance, art and religious ceremonies. We'll visit with potters, painters, carvers, weavers and silversmiths. Each retreat will be unique, led by an expert in that particular field and faciliated by your hosts.

Look for our yoga, spa, culture, writing and dream/intuition retreats coming up this year and be transformed by the spirituality and Island of the Gods...

Monique Parker, MFA, E-RYT, is a yoga educator inspired by the Svastha Yoga tradition of A.G. and Indra Mohan.  She is the co-founder and director of the Yoga Teacher Certification Program at the University of New Mexico-Taos, where she also teaches creative writing and composition.
For the past eleven years she has worked with students from all over the US, synthesizing the fundamentals of asana, yoga psychology, pranayama, mantra, and chant. She specializes in yoga therapy and individualized practice through breath-centric movement. Her lifestyle and teachings reflect the personalized self-care of the classic tradition.
Monique began practicing yoga sixteen years ago as a way to reduce the stress from a demanding career as a Fortune 500 copywriter and marketing consultant in Silicon Valley. In addition to the health benefits, she found that yoga also helped her to improve her concentration, clarify thoughts and speech, and reconnect with her authentic voice. These discoveries led her to create "The Yoga of Writing" workshops which have been featured in Poets and Writers and Writer's Digest magazines.

Yoga with Yvette

Yoga for me is a way of life. Practicing yoga in daily life is a wonderful way to connect. Yoga is profound, but it's also a lot of fun! When I teach it's important for me to see smiling faces.

My style is classical Hatha Yoga. There is always a time for meditation, a vinyasa (flow of postures) while focusing on the breath and taking time to look at postures in more detail. Other styles that I love are Yin Yoga (holding postures longer and going into deeper stages of meditation), Restorative yoga (using props to restore the body, mind and spirit) and Yoga Nidra (a deep relaxation technique).

Having the opportunity to do this on the spiritual island of Bali which I fell in love with two years ago, always gives me goose bumps! I'm looking forward to go on this journey together to celebrate yoga, life and beautiful Bali together.
Namasté
